Effectively processing slag is one of the crucial ways for a steel enterprise to improve economic benefits and maintain sustainable development. In view of the problems confronted by SISG and its peer enterprises in slag processing, the present study is focused on the characters and merits of the hot slag disintegrating and self-dissolving technique with waste heat, now employed by SISG. Successful application of the technique has brought out better economic, social, and environmental benefits.
