The dependence of experimental dog's PaCO2 on pump volume ( Vp ) and frequency ( f ) during high frequency oscillation ventilation is reported. It is noted that PaCO2 rises with decrease of Vp when f is fixed and that PaCO2 becomes higher with the decline of f. when Vp is fixed. Vp 60 ml and f 11Hz can just maintain the normal PaCO2 level.
