Metaphoric theory emphasizes the interaction and cultural elements in human cognition,which deepens the understanding of the relationship among language,thought and culture,and accordingly provides inspirations for foreign language teaching.Therefore,applying metaphoric cognition in different levels of foreign language teaching may help learners with their language learning,promote their understanding about the target culture and develop their communicative competence in foreign language.
