明代文人书家文徵明是明代中叶崛起的古典派的先驱。在书法研究方面,他颇受复古文艺观的影响,上接晋唐传统书道,同时力戒明初以来时人书法的流弊,成为明代书坛的中坚。他尤以小楷闻名海内,其书温润秀劲,法度谨严而意态生动,变革元人软弱秀媚的习气,力求古朴苍劲,以传达魏晋小楷端庄流利、刚健婀娜的气韵。
