Chief mechanic system is established as an internal expert system in Masteel.This paper analyzes the importance,realistic foundation and the policy support of constructing the chief mechanic system; and system characteristics and the preliminary effect of carrying out it.The author tries to put forward the improvement measures in the chief mechanic system.
