After a detailed analysis of the viewpoints on Li Bai's audience with the emperor and his resignation, the author finds it was the Emperor Xuan Zong of the Tang Dynasty rather than other commonly believed persons who recommended and finally chose Li Bai for the official title of Han Lin. The discrimination among reasons of his resignation leads to the conclusion that it is a proper and wise political decision made by Emperor Xuan Zong with his well-understanding of Li Bai and the correct assessment of the times.
