On the basis of analyzing some related books and research papers published in China and foreign countries,this paper summarizes the thought of library science of Frederick Wilfrid Lancaster,a famous American library science scholar,from aspects of the evaluation on library information system,the forecast of the influences of the future technology on the library,and the repositioning of the librarians.
