对“虚弱”的评估不能一概而论

Frailty cannot be assessed by one criterion

人口老龄化是当今社会共同面对的问题,老年人肿瘤的罹患率较年轻人高。2010年2月19日《临床医师肿瘤杂志》(CA Cancer J Clin)上刊载了一篇关于老年癌症患者综合评估的综述,题为"老年肿瘤患者的评估:解读虚弱状态以及老年医学评估",我们结合临床实际对该论文进行研读后,就文中对于虚弱状态评估的方式提出不同见解,得到作者认可。我们撰写的Letter于2010年6月23日发表在《CA Cancer J Clin》上。

Our society is facing a rapid rise in the number of individuals aged older than 65 years. Their cancer incidence and cancer-related mortality are higher than the younger ones. A review about assessing health status in the older patients, entitled Evaluating the older patient with cancer： Understanding frailty and the geriatric assessment was published in CA Cancer J Clin on February 19, 2010. We read it with great interest and apply it to our clinical work. Then we raised some different points on the assessment methods of frailty. Our suggestions were accepted by the authors and the letter we wrote was published in CA Cancer J Clin on Junc 23, 2010.
