神木县西沟秦长城遗址发掘、调查报告

Report on the Excavation and Survey of the Qin Great Wall Site at Xigou Town,Shenmu County

2008年榆神高速公路的考古工作中,于神木县西沟乡西沟行政村瓜地渠自然村东北约1公里处发现秦汉建筑遗址（图一）。该遗址位于榆神高速公路k86＋080至k86＋160段,东距神木县城约5公里,GPS坐标38°49.57′N,110°25.05′8″E。

During the salvage excavation project of the Yushen highway,we discovered one section of the Great Wall at Xigou Town in Shenmu County.Archaeological evidence shows that the site should be dated to the Late Warring States Period.According to its location and directional orientation,this section of the Great Wall might have been built during the reign of Zhaoxiang King.During the subsequent archaeological investigation along with the Great Wall,we collected a substantiate amount of banwa（tegula） fragments with spots impression and tongwa（impress） fragments.Most of the Great Wall remains were constructed directly above one layer of yellow sand.This evidence shows that desertification had already taken placed during the Late Warring-States period in the west bank of Kuye River.
