BRICS Summit Agenda, Participants’ Positions and Policy Suggestions for China

文章首先简要回顾了金砖国家峰会的由来及演变过程。其次,深入分析了金砖各国在宏观经济政策协调、大宗商品价格高位波动、贸易保护主义、国际货币金融体系改革、碳减排和全球气候变化、减贫与发展援助等主要经济议题上的利益和立场。文章最后指出,既要着眼于长远,将金砖国家机制打造成为保障中国和平崛起的战略资源与缓冲屏障,又应立足于现实,以双边、多边经贸合作为基础,实行菜单式合作,循序推进,不断累积互信,化解矛盾和分歧,提升合作水平。

This article briefly reviews the origin and evolution of the BRICS Summit and then makes an in-depth analysis of those countries’ interests and stances over major issues of macroeconomic coordination, commodities price fluctuations at high levels, trade protectionism, international currency and monetary system reform, CO2 emission reduction, global climate change, poverty alleviation and development aid. It points out that we should not only make BRICS mechanism a long-term strategic resource and buffering zone that guarantee China’s peaceful rise, but also conduct menu-style cooperation based on bilateral and multilateral trade cooperation and real needs, and accumulate mutual trust, resolve disagreements and disputes and enhance economic cooperation.
