罗蒙诺索夫曾积极支持俄国早期汉学家的中国典籍翻译,对中国人民的聪明才智赞叹不已。然而,他在呈献给沙皇的一系列颂诗中却无视俄国蚕食中国领土的事实,鼓吹武力夺取黑龙江,征服中华民族,这与当时俄国统治者和御用文人的中国观如出一辙。

Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov was once active in supporting early Russian sinologists in their translation of classical Chinese literary works and showed his deep appreciation toward wisdom of the Chinese people. However, in his series of poems in praise of the czar, he turned a blind eye to the Russian nibbling of Chinese territory, advocating occupying Heilongjiang by military force and further conquering the Chinese nation, which was no different from the view of China of the Russian rulers and those hired scribblers of his time.
