'The Acquisition of Dao'and'the acquisition of knowledge'are both important and complexdomains in Chinese philosophy·They are stated as contrary in the Dao De Jing·Even in the Confucius philosophy, whether or not'the acquisition of Dao'can be regarded as'knowledge'is still not clearly stated·The Song neo-Confucianists have made it clear by categorizing'the acquisition of Dao'into the domain of'knowledge' ·On Yan Hui's Beloved Knowledge, written by Cheng Yi, was the first profound work that formally stated the idea of'let the acquisition of Dao be knowledge'·By analyzing the categorization and nature of intellective framework, Cheng's work clearly explains the object, methods, and means of the study of Dao and expresses the neo-epistemology of the Song Confucianism·Cheng's work has profound significances for understanding the Song Confucianism, from which some thoughts on intellectual history can be derived·
