摘要
《時務報》是戊戌變法期間最重要的刊物,張之洞因汪康年而與之關係甚深。當康有爲有意將《時務報》改爲官報以歸梁啓超掌控時,汪康年在張之洞的支持下,將之改爲《昌言報》,企圖以《時務報》的＂空名＂給康有爲。本文根據＂張之洞檔案＂中的大量電報、書信,揭示了這一過程中的種種内幕,展示了許多以往不清楚的細節,並由此引發關於＂百日維新＂命運的思考。本文還集中地考察了張之洞與黄遵憲之間的關係,並説明黄遵憲政治地位的盛衰與張之洞甚有關聯。
The Shiwu News (Shiwu Bao),the most important journal during the 1898 Reform of the Qing,witnessed considerable changes of Zhang Zhidong's personal relations with other Qing officials and intellectuals.By examining a large number of telegrams and confidential letters in the 'Archives of Zhang Zhidong',this article reveals many inside stories over the transformation from The Shiwu News to The Changyan News (Changyan Bao).It places emphasis on the social networks of the Qing officials and intellectuals with the aim of re-considering the 1898 Reform and its failure.In particular,it extensively discusses relations between Zhang Zhidong and Huang Zunxian and demonstrates that Huang's political life was significantly influenced by his personal relations with Zhang.
