The important value of expert system applied to missile weapons system fault diagnosis is discussed generally in this paper. The techniques of CBR are used for the design of missile weapons system diagnosis expert system (MDES). According to the characters of missile fault diagnosis, the framework of MDES is designed and the relative key techniques are researched.
