Hasegawa Nyozekan held a sensible and dispassionate attitude toward Japanese culture during the Showa period. By analyzing Japan＇ s history, he referred to the qualities of Japanese culture as pluralism and realism. Obviously, by doing so, he criticized the prevalent idea of cuhural exclusionism and purism at that time, which constituted the core of his idea of ＂Socialized nation＂.
