摘要
刘虹1948年生于北京,二十多岁正好赶上上山下乡,在怀柔农村生活了4年。这段时间(1968--1972)以及她在北京师范学院读“革命文艺系”期间,刘虹画了大量农民的素描肖像,以及一系列日常风景画(《我能秘密自由》),比无名画会的作品要早好几年。当时,画日常事物就等于在表达一种立场。
While reading any art in terms of its nation of origin leads to a whole set of fallacies,there is something in the painting of Hung Liu that suggests a resonance with national, and personal history that goes beyond the increasingly standardized narrative of"Chinese contemporary art"that begins with the Stars exhibilion in 1979.and proceeds linearly to the most recent auction records.
