The Similarities in Metaphors between English and Chinese in the Perspective of Cognition

认知语言学认为隐喻是人类基本的认知活动,而空间隐喻在人类的认知活动中扮演着重要的角色,许多抽象概念之构建都必须通过空间隐喻来实现。本研究拟以"上/下"为例,对英汉两种语言空间隐喻的相似性进行举隅论证。

Cognitive linguistics holds that metaphor is a basic human cognitive activity.Spatial metaphors in the cognitive activities play an important role in the construction of many Abstract concepts.This study exemplifies the metaphors concerning ＂up / down＂,illustrating the similarities between English and Chinese.
