A Comparative Study of the Economic Thoughts of Liang Qichao and Adam Smith

Liang Qichao's thought of wealth generation and distribution was an important part of his New People thinking. It was suggested with a view to enriching and strengthening China based on Adam Smith's national wealth creation and distribution and in light of China's conditions. There exist similarities and differences between Liang's thought and that of Adam Smith's both in connotation and extension. Examining the similarities and differences between the two is of great significance to revealing the evolution and value of Liang's thinking on wealth creation and distribution.
