The Similarities and Differences between the Indigenization of Buddhism and Marxism

佛教中国化与马克思主义中国化在时代背景、国内背景、国际背景、发展历程上存在明显异同,马克思主义可以借鉴佛教中国化的经验,立足时代,放眼全球,推动自身的中国化进程;要与中国文化要素结合,形成新文化体系,实现马克思主义中国化理论指导地位与非马克思主义理论形态积极社会作用的双赢。

There are obvious similarities and differences between the indigenization of Marxism and Buddhism in terms of historical background, domestic and international contexts and development courses. Marxism can learn from the experience of the Buddhist sinicization, base itself in its times, think globally and promote its process of sinicization. It should integrate with Chinese cultural elements and form a new cultural system and realize the 'win-win' situation with Marxism in an ideological leadership position and with other non-Marxism theories playing a positive role in the Chinese society.
