A Comparative Study of the Official Persuasive Writings and Denunciation Essays of the Southern Dynastie

南朝檄文、移文数量不多,二者性质相似又有区别。就功能而言,檄文主要用于军事方面,移文还可用于朝臣围绕国事而展开的讨论,重在阐明自身旨意,以达晓喻对方之目的;就适用对象看,檄文常针对违逆之人而作,移文则用于政见初异而终同之人。南朝檄移文以俪体行文,具有较高的美学价值。

Denunciation essays and official persuasive writings of the Southern dynasties had some similarities and differences between them. With respect to functions,denunciation essays were mainly used for military purposes while persuasive writings were used in discussions of state affairs with the author's fellow ministers, focusing on the intentions of the author and persuading his colleagues. In terms of applicable objects, denunciation essays were often against wrong-doers while official persuasive essays aimed at ministers whose politics disagreed with the author in the beginning but ended up the same. Such essays adopted the parallel style and were of high aesthetic value.
