On the Influence of the Philippine-US Relation Changes on the Chinese-Philippine Relations

独立后的菲律宾,因经济重建及冷战时期安全防卫需要,成为美国的政治仆从和经济附庸。受世界民族运动影响,菲律宾国内反对美国控制,要求政治、经济独立的要求也十分强烈。由此,菲美关系经历了从依附、仆从到矛盾渐生,乃至逐渐疏远的变化。菲律宾华人因特殊的经济地位,以及与中国的渊源,亦受此影响。

Due to the economic reconstruction and the need for security and defense during the Cold War,the independent Philippine was still political and economic lackeys of the United States.Affected by the world national movement,the Philippine domestic opposition to U.S control and requested for political,economic independence was also very strong.As a result,the Philippine-US relations have gone from attachment to confrontation and even rivalry.The Chinese in the Philippine were affected greatly because of their special economic status and their relationship with China.Accordingly,the ethnic relationship between the Chinese and native Philippines experienced a series change.
