埃米瑞·巴拉卡和爱德华·阿尔比同为美国著名的剧作家,巴拉卡擅长写作美国黑人革命戏剧,反映黑人受压迫的处境,以激发黑人为争取种族平等而武装反抗白人的热情;阿尔比擅长创作荒诞派剧作,其作品着力表现美国当代社会中人与人之间的冷漠、隔绝以及中产阶级的盲目乐观、精神空虚。独幕剧《荷兰人》和荒诞剧《动物园的故事》分别是二人的代表作,两部作品在剧情结构、叙事主题、写作技巧等多方面有着惊人的相似之处,因此,本研究从多个角度对两部作品进行相似性解读。

Amiri Baraka and Albee Edward are famous dramatists in America.Baraka is good at writing revolutionary drama of Afro-American.His play reveals the oppression of the Black and inspires their struggle for racial justice.Monodrama Dutchman is one of his representatives.Albee is expert in absurd theatre.His play shows indifference and isolation of people and mental vacancy of the middle class.His first drama The Zoo Story is typical of his early work.These two dramas have great similarities in plot structures,character design and writing skills.This thesis is meant to analyze the similarities of these two dramas.
