摘要
可能世界语义是情态表达的内涵,其固有的模糊性一直是学界力图攻克的难题。本文基于情态理论,探讨其表达的可能世界语义概念;同时运用模糊集合理论和隶属度划分方法,以BNC语料库(书面语部分)以及多本权威词典作为参照研究,将不同情态进行分类并进而将情态中心词的模糊级别清晰化。同时,为在情态表达的英语教学研究、话语理解,及计算机自动处理方面作出进一步研究的铺垫。
The implication of modality is possible world meaning, which is a hard nut to crack in academic research. Its inherent ambiguity has been stumbled galaxy of linguists. This thesis is mainly based on modality theory to explore the semantics of possible world, also attempts to discuss the intra-relationship between these two categories. We focus on measure off the membership grade of modal words, which mainly rely on methods of fuzz set measurement and BNC （written） language materials together with several authoritative dictionaries. Apart from clarify the ambiguity of modals under various classifications, also the measurement of central modal words will pave the way for further study on English language teaching, discourse analysis and computer automated processing.
