The Comfort of Strangers is one of the most important novels of Ian McEwan. The author takes abnormal metamorphosis as his subject to explore the depths of human nature. This paper holds that the use of narrative unreliability is McEwan＇s important way to realize the combination of the subject of horror with and serious thematic meaning.
