On one hand,digital city exists as an artificial product of information technologies.On the other hand,it is deeply embeded with human emotions and cultural implications,indicating the contradiction and conflict between technology and humanities,nature and society,individual and group.Meanwhile,it also predicts the challenges facing the practical basis of human activity,the humanistic foundation of social existence and the spiritual resource of civilization and progress.Therefore,a thorough analysis on its challenges to social vitality,as well as on its implication of potential opportunities,will undoubtedly help us to deeply comprehend the interaction and entanglement between digital space and real space,which is conducive to a correct understanding of the mutual influence and interdependence among nature,society and people.As a result,a new type of dynamic individuals,vigorous society and energetic vitality of urban society would be born and constructed.
