In this paper, the significance of developing the nuclear power engineering and operation evaluation indicators was summarized, the current status and achievements in this field were introduced. Then the indicator designing principles, main points and preliminary design of the indicators were given according to the features of nuclear power. And the current status of the nuclear power engineering and operation was analyzed by applying these indicators. At last, based on above, the suggestions for the further works were given.
