This paper analyzes the characteristics of Japanese cartilage that is patterned through the contraction of nature,and holds that the Japanese art of building curtilages is deeply influenced by Chinese style with unique features different from Chinese gardens.The social culture of Japanese cartilages embodies the Japanesenational character of advocating nature.
