A Study on Post Colonialism in the Film Slumdog Millionaire from the Perspective of Orientalism

认为电影《贫民窟的百万富翁》中关于印度的描写并非是真实的,而是西方国家在后殖民时代对东方文化的一种歪曲和控制,其目的是为了满足西方观众的猎奇心理,迎合西方东方主义者的欣赏品味,体现了殖民时期之后宗主国与殖民地之间不平等的文化话语权力关系。对新时期我国如何定位本土文化提出建议。

The description of Indian in the film Slumdog Millionaire is thought unrealistic, but is a kind of distortion and control for oriental culture from the western countries in the period of post colonialism. Their purpose is to satisfy the psychological needs of hunting for novelty of western audience, cater to the apprecia- tive taste of western orientalists. This reflects the unequal relationship of cultural and language powers between suzerains and colonies in the period of post colonialism. At last, some suggestions are presented about how to locate our local culture in the new period.
