中国古诗叠词模糊美的英译再现

English Reproduction of the Fuzzy Beauty in Translating the Reduplicative in Classical Chinese Poetry

中国古诗中的叠词具有意味悠长的模糊之美,但却是古诗翻译的难点之一。从模糊语言学的角度探讨了中国古诗中叠词的模糊美,并指出中国古诗在英译时遇到的各种难处,最后总结出在英译中有效再现古诗模糊美的三种翻译策略,即等值再现、等效再现和功能再现。

There are a great many reduplicative words in classical Chinese poetry.These expressive fuzzy words are very difficult to be reproduced in English.This paper first investigates into the fuzzy beauty of the reduplicative in classical Chinese poetry as well as the difficulty in translating it into English,and consequently three translating strategies are concluded on how to reproduce its fuzzy beauty effectively,namely equivalence,effectiveness and function.
