With the development in society and economy,it is becoming more and more important for higher vocational English majors to improve English speech skill.The paper analyzes the current state of students＇ speech ability and puts forward two methods： making full use of classroom teaching and school campus activity.Thus,the students＇ English speech competence will be raised from the aspects of cultivating English language competence,enhancing public speech psychology and improving creative and critical thinking ability.
