The system function grammar may enhance the combination of grammar teaching and students＇ comunication ability improve- ment to the maximum. It may encourage students to transform their grammartical knowledge and cultural knowledge into language ability and make use of what they have learned in language communication. The functional grammar focuses on the discourse analysis, which differs most from traditonal grammar teaching. It is also the most significant enlightenment to foreign language teaching.
