An Insight into Sino-British Opium Tax Disputes before the Signing of Special Amendment to the Treaty of Yantai Based on the Study of British Parliamentary Papers

通过翻译研究British Parliamentary Papers China 31 Opium Way and Opium Trade 1840—1885(1840年至1885年关于鸦片战争和鸦片贸易的英国议会文件)中的史料,探寻晚清中英两国在《烟台条约续增专条》签订前围绕鸦片税厘所进行的纷争,进一步揭露历史真相。

Based on the translation of and research on the historical data in British Parliamentary Papers China 31 Opium Way and Opium Trade 1840—1885,this paper attempts to investigate into the tax disputes over opium trade between China and Britain before the signing of Sino-British Special Amendment to the Treaty of Yantai in the late Qing Dynasty in the hope of exposing historical truth.
