The origin and development of blues shows the rough and hard life of black people in America.As one of ways to give vent to their pent-up feelings,many black writers implant the music elements,that is,blues into their literary works.By analyzing the blues elements in two great literary works wrote by Tony Morrison,this article interprets the living predicament and philosophy in blues,in hopes to make a discussion on the power of expression in music and literature.
