David Herbert Lawrence,full of wits and rebellions,was a unique and controversial English writer of the 20th century.Traditionally,the study of Lawrence and his works is always associated with sexuality.From the perspective of eco-criticism,this paper tries to interpret Lady Chatterley＇s Lover,written by D·H Lawrence,and further digs up the cultural roots of the ecological crises.Lawrence criticized the extreme scientism and at the same time expressed his self-protest in an unbalanced eco-society.In the world of turmoil and bustle,Lawrence expressed his ideal of building a society of returning to nature and harmonious co-existence between man and nature,by his sharp observation of the mankind development and reflection and criticism of his age.
