英语习语的不可译性和可学性

摘要 英语习语和汉语成语很难形成对等翻译。用汉语的思维模式理解和翻译英语习语往往导致大量信息的流失和曲解。不过,正是英语习语的这种需要回避汉语思维才能准确理解的特性使得它成为培养学生直接采用英语思维的好材料。 Usually,equivalent translation cannot be done between Chinese and English idioms.To comprehend or translate English idioms in Chinese modes of thinking will always lead to loss of information or misunderstanding.However,this feature of correct understanding by avoidance of Chinese modes of thinking makes English idioms excellent teaching materials to help students develop their English modes of thinking.
