This paper introduces the theory of common used centring idler operation of belt conveyor, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of actual application of centring idler. Through improve the disadvantages to design a new mode centring idler. The new new mode centring idler has been used in some mines of Jiangxi Copper. From actual operation, the new mode centring idler＇s centring, strength, life and other performances is better.
