自工业革命以来,人类对自然资源大规模的开发,已引起全球范围环境和资源的迅速变化。海平面上升、气候异常、风攀潮、频繁发生的干早和洪涝灾害。
Human beings are facing the danger of environmental degradation and resource shortage in the 21st century. Without doubt, science and technology will play a crucial role in dealing with such issuses. IGBP is such a project that aims to solve these problems.
