The inner ear is the sensory system for sound, motion, and gravity. It comprises an array of interconnected fluid compartments that are enclosed by a multitude of specialized epithelial cell, including the cochlea, vestibular labyrinth, and endolymphatic sac. The endolymph lies in membranaceous pipeline of the cochlear duct and vestibular organs, which is mainly composed of water, electrolytes and organic. Endolymphatic might play an important part in the maintenance of water- salt metabolism in lymphoid homeostasis, cell signal transduction and the otolith regeneration, while to complete it, its metabolism mainly relies on a large number of ion channels and special proteins. This article will briefly introduce some important channels associated with water - salt metabolism of endolymphatic, as well as its correlation with otolith regeneration research.
