Taisaku Ikeda’s Earth Civilization Theory

在池田大作看来,正在世界各地蔓延的环境危机已威胁到构建地球文明,这与近代以来的文明观念有关。近代文明是一种满足人类欲望的文明,是资本主义社会的本性,它企图把自然产物变为自己所有,以一元化的金钱价值不断侵蚀着各种社会价值和生活价值。这也与科学技术的滥用有关,科学技术造就了高度发达的物质文明,但也使伦理精神贫弱虚化,这种科技悖论是由于它背离了人本身和对科技不加善恶的利用。创建人本主义地球文明,必须开辟"人道竞争"时代,因为只有通过人道竞争,携手协力,才能建设共存共荣的文明世界。

Taisaku Ikeda believes that the environmental crisis spreading around the world should have endangered the construction of the earth civilization, which is related to the modern civilization theory and the mis- use of .science and technology. As a civilization to satisfy human desires of every kind and also the nature of the capitalist society, the modern civilization intends to gain products of nature and appropriate social and life values while science and technology have created highly developed material civilization, resulting in weak ethical spirit. Therefore, we should initiate a new era of humanitarian competition to construct a humanistic earth civilization for coexistence.
