Concurrent sexual partnerships is that one person has overlapping sexual relations with more than one persons. Recent years, the role of concurrent sexual partnerships attract attention of research for its recognition as important effect for the transmission of sexually transmitted infection. Modeling and empirical evidence suggest, concurrent partnerships can increase the size and speed of an HIV epidemic. In this article, definitions of concurrency, the intluent factor and its relations to AIDs are reviewed.
