摘要
《毛泽东选集》的翻译是我国翻译史上的一件大事,却鲜有学者加以深入研究和客观评价。本文立足译者主体性和操纵论视角,在对比分析《毛泽东选集》原作及其英译本基础上,对译者角色进行探析。文章指出,译者享有主观能动性,同时又受到客观因素的操纵,两者在翻译过程中相互对抗。如果译者主观能动性占上风,那么译文风格会偏向于意译;如果译者受动性（受操纵性）占据主导地位,那么译文风格就会偏向于直译。
The translation activity of Selected Works of Mao Tse-tung is a great event in the Chinese history of translation.However,few people have ever made comprehensive analysis of and objective comment on it.This paper,based on a contrastive study between Selected Works of Mao Tse-tung and its English version,attempts to make a fresh inquiry into the translators' studies from the perspectives of translator's subjectivity and manipulation theory.This paper holds that the translator,while enjoying their subjective dynamics,is manipulated.The two acts which are resisting against each other,and that if the translator's subjective dynamics gains the upper hand in translating,then his version would tend to be the result of free translation,and if the translator's passivity(manipulatedness) dominates,then his version would be inclined to be literally translated.
