Studies on the Department Chairs and College Deans:A Literature Review

在大学组织结构中,院系是大学学术系统中的基础单位。院长系主任在院系中起领导作用,院长系主任研究是大学组织管理理论与实践中的学术热点。文章在对院长系主任研究的国内外文献进行回顾的基础上进行了简要述评,提出进一步研究值得关注的问题。

A department or a college is a fundamental unit in organizational structure of a university with their chairs and deans playing significantly important roles in their operation.The studies on the department chairs and college deans have increasingly attracted attention of the researchers involved with university organizational management.This paper offers a bird-eye review and a brief comment on the existing literature concerning this issue and,furthermore,raises some noteworthy problems.
