Necessity and feasibility of setting undergraduate majors related to strategic new industries:taking functional materials specialty of Shenyang Jianzhu University as an example

为适应国家战略性新兴产业发展的要求,沈阳建筑大学设置了功能材料新专业。功能材料专业是战略性新兴产业相关本科专业,其设置加大了战略性新兴功能材料产业人才培养力度,有利于推动产业转型升级;有利于逐步构建与国家和地方经济社会发展相适应、特色鲜明、领域合理、结构优化的功能材料产业人才培养体系,是学校办学基础成熟、办学结构调整和学科群可持续发展的必然结果。

Functional materials specialty was set up in Shenyang Jianzhu University to meet the national strategic requirements of new industry development.Functional materials specialty is a strategic new industry-related specialty to train talents adapted to the strategic materials industry and help to promote industrial restructuring and upgrading.It contributes to the progressive national and local economic construction and a talent training system with distinctive features.The establishment of functional materials specialty is an inevitable result because of the education maturity,school restructuring and sustainable development of disciplines.
