A Cognitive Interpretation of Verbal Politeness within Adaptation-relevance Model

顺应—关联模式是在整合Sperber&Wilson的关联理论和Verschueren的顺应理论的基础上建立起来的,兼顾了言语交际的生成和理解。文章将言语礼貌放在这一新的语用学模式下探讨,通过互动式的会话分析,总结出无论是期待中的还是期待之外的礼貌效果的产生,都是交际双方顺应语境、寻求关联的动态过程。

Adaptation-relevance model is an integration of relevance theory and adaptation theory;it takes into consideration both the production and interpretation sides of verbal communication.The present study makes an inquiry into verbal politeness within this model.Based on the analysis of verbal politeness in situated conversational discourse,the paper draws the conclusion that the generation of anticipated politeness effect and that of inferred politeness effect are dynamic.
