Study on the Culture Factors of Translation Between English and Chinese

文章从影响翻译的文化因素及其排除方法两方面入手,指出翻译不仅是一种跨语言的交际活动,同时也是一种跨文化的交际活动。要在两种语言之间进行翻译,除了通晓两种语言文字外,还必须了解两种文化。翻译是一种跨文化交际,它不仅是语言的转换,更是文化的转换;而东西方的文化既有共性又有个性,翻译不是纯粹的语言技巧问题,而是在文化基础上的一种正确判断、选择的能力。在翻译实践中应具体问题具体分析,选择恰当的方法。

This article is discussed the relationship between language translation and its culture.The translation is not only a cross-language activity but also a cross-cultural one.Therefore,if the translation is carried out between two different languages,awareness of both cultures should be necessary apart from the knowledge of the languages itself.It is a reflection of cross-cultural communication.It is a transformation of two different languages and their cultures.As a matter of fact,both the western and oriental cultures have something in common and of its own,so translation,as an important way of convering understanding between two languages,should not be just considered as an ability of language using,but also a deep understanding of the two cultures.In a word,cultural factors must be considered during the process of translation.
