Writing ＂Guanzhen＂ as a self discipline, Liu Ji was an honest and incorruptible official who loved people and was intimate with people. He was also a man of reputation and integrity, outspoken and candid, never bowed down to power. Characterized by a fiery intolerance of evil and a vigorous audacity, he denounced the government＇s policy, took measures to punish the corrupt officials and enforced order and discipline. He was invested with a rank but declined it, making success insignificant and showing a paragon of virtue. Performing duties honestly and innocently, he changed the old backward habits and customs of burial with the simple one of himself.
