中国联通征战“后苹果时代”

摘要 自2009年引进iPhone以来,中国联通在中国独享了"苹果"的甜与酸,并以此获得了3G业务的宝贵优势。然而,甘甜有限、酸涩愈烈的局面不得不让联通无奈走进"后苹果时代"。 China United Network Communications Group Co.,Ltd.(China Unicom)has recently reduced the subsidies to iPhone while strengthened its cooperation with Android system handset makers.This will be the focus of its Third Generation(3G)business in the next step. China Unicom has achieved great growth in 3G service,in which iPhone makes a big contribution as over 20%3G users are iPhone users.iPhone brings it revenues as well as high-end users.What's more important is China Unicom has successfully improved its brand image with Apple's unique charm and formed sound interaction with its users. But the other side of the story is that Apple also cut down the profits of China Unicom in the cooperation,since the major fees users spent are on Apple's App store,not on the services of China Unicom. So,the follow-up with the hot Android system handsets is a natural solution.It has released a dozen of Android 3G handsets with WIFI,Bluetooth functions,and favorable packages.China Unicom hopes to cover all levels of users with various handsets. But in the long-term development, operators have to first ensure good 3G signals and services.
