摘要
巴尔的摩案是美国科学界发生的与科学不端行为有关的一个著名案例。在长达十年之久的审查及定案中不仅涉及面广，而且还惊动了政府部门和经济情报局，由此也引发了科学界对政府参与的种种看法。调查科学不端行为的机构ＯＲＩ也因在这项案件调查中的失败而面临种种困境。本文对这一案件的经过作了描述，并就其中有关的争论和思考提出了看法。
Baltimore Case'is a famous case on misconduct in science. During its 10-year investigation, ithad not only been widely spread, but also intervened by Congress and Secret Service. Office of Research integrity (ORI), the agent dealing with charges on misconduct in science, experienced agreat deal of difficulties after its failure in the investigation. This article describes the process ofthis case, and puts forward some idea on relevant issues.
