In November of 2009, archaeologists excavated a group of Ming tombs in the course of construction work on Daobei second Road of Luoyang City. Three of the tombs (HMl125, HMl137, HM1138) were rectangular earthen-cave tombs. Each tomb was composed of a tomb tunnel, a tomb passage, and a chamber. Although the tombs were robbed at some time in the past, many objects nonetheless remained to be unearthed. The pottery tomb figures unearthed from HMl137 were especially fine, and provide new information for the study of the customs and systems of burial, carving technology, and sartorial culture of Luoyang area.
