类鼻疽（melioidosis）是由类鼻疽杆菌感染引起的一种新发传染病,属热带医学疾病。我国海南、广东、香港、台湾以及南海周边国家为流行区,有学者认为它是一种正在扩散的人兽共患病。类鼻疽杆菌主要存在于土壤或水中,极易获取和传播;加上该菌易培养、耐药性强,目前还没有有效的疫苗,

Melioidosis,caused by its pathogenic agent Burkholderia pseudomallei,is a new tropical disease epidemic to Hainan,Guangdong,Hong Kong,Taiwan of China and other regions around Nanhai sea,and is regarded as a diffusing amphixenosis.Because of ready accessibility,resistance to most common antibiotics,high rate of infectivity via aerosols and no effective vaccine,this bacteria has been classified as category B priority pathogens by the WHO.Hainan is an island of great military values as barrier of Nanhai,and has draw more economical attention due to its becoming more important in international tourist industry.Therefore,the research of melioidosis is urgent to the public health and the safety of our country.In order to control the infection of Burkholderia pseudomallei,more work has to be done about the pathogen,such as,the interaction between this pathogen and human,its secretory system,potential vaccine,and so on.This review focused on progress in the research of Burkholderia pseudomallei,attempting to appeal public attention on the research of melioidosis.
